Today was my last day working at the central office. It has been such an amazing experience for me to be welcomed into the ASP team and the TECHO family as a whole. I have learned so much about many different aspects of the inner workings of a non-profit and especially how such a large institution like TECHO works all around Latin America to help improve housing. It is a very complex system that is run with the hard work and long hours of many individuals, all who are kind and passionate about what they do. My practice experience here has been nothing but fulfilling while still leaving me feeling like there is so much more to be done. I can’t thank everyone here enough for all that they have taught and shared with me, taking me in as one of their own and making my time here so special.
I will miss incredibly all the families I have met and all the friends I have made. I can’t wait to see all the progress you will continue to make in my absence and I wish you all the luck you may need to continue this wonderful work.
As a going away present my supervisor gave me this photo, on the back signed by my team, a very sweet gesture. I will cherish it along with the many memories I have made here. You guys have made my time unforgettable.
